Fig Fruit Leather
Natural fig fruit leather prepared according to Marine Azbarian's recipe, without sugar, starch, or drying in a dehydrator. This is a healthy and delicious dessert that you can enjoy year-round.

Wash the figs, remove the stems, and cut them into pieces.

Place the chopped figs in a saucepan, add a little water, and cook over low heat for 15 minutes, until softened.

Blend the cooked figs into a puree.

Pass the fig puree through a sieve to remove the seeds (optional).

Return the strained (or unstrained) fig puree to the saucepan and cook for another 15 minutes, until thickened.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the fig puree cool slightly.

Spread the fig puree in a thin layer on a silicone mat or a cellophane-lined baking sheet.

Air dry for 2 days. It is possible to hang it on a clothesline indoors overnight to dry.

Cut the dried fruit leather and roll it up like a roll.
