    Wash the peaches, cut them in half, and remove the pits.

    Place the peach slices into clean jars.

    Pour boiling water over the peaches in the jars, cover with lids, and let stand for 10 minutes.

    In a saucepan, combine water and sugar and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add citric acid.

    Drain the water from the jars and fill them with the syrup.

    Tightly seal the jars with lids, turn them upside down, and wrap them well in a warm blanket. Leave to cool completely.
