Duck Meat Baklava

This is a special variation of Meskhetian baklava, where smoked duck meat and aromatic spices are used instead of the traditional sweet filling. A delicious dish that will surely impress your guests.

  • Pekmez30 ml
  • Lemon juice15 ml

    Prepare the dough: In a bowl, mix flour, water and salt. Knead the dough, which should not be too hard or too soft. Add a little water or flour if needed.

    Prepare the filling: Sauté finely chopped onions in duck fat until golden brown.

    Place bamboo skewers, bay leaves and tea leaves in a pot and smoke the duck for 10 minutes. Then chop the smoked duck.

    Add sautéed onions, black pepper, savory and salt to taste. Mix well.

    Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and roll out thinly in starch.

    Place these layers on top of each other, roll into a roll and cut into portions.

    Roll out each piece, put the filling inside and fold into triangles.

    Brush with melted butter and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
