Fried Peach Dumplings
This is a traditional Georgian dessert made with dough and a peach filling. The dumplings are fried until golden brown and served with powdered sugar.
Ingredients
- Oil (for frying)500 ml

Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the canned peaches with their juice, and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and ground nutmeg.

Add the dry ingredients to the peach mixture, mix well, and simmer for another 5 minutes.

Cool the resulting mixture.

To prepare the dough, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Add flour, salt and knead the dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

Sprinkle flour on the work surface, roll out the dough, and cut into rectangles.

Spread the peach mixture in the center of the dough rectangles and seal the edges of each square.

Fry the dumplings in hot oil. Brown on all sides.

Remove to a wire rack to drain excess oil.
