    Wash tomatoes and cucumbers, then cut them into medium-sized pieces. Peel the onion and slice it into thin half-rings.

    Finely chop the basil and cilantro. If using green pepper, finely chop it as well.

    In a large bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, basil, cilantro, and pepper (if using).
