    Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine 300g flour and 150g cold, cubed butter. Work with your hands or a pastry cutter until coarse crumbs form. Add sour cream and salt, knead into a soft dough. Divide into 2 portions, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Prepare the filling (khorbali): In a pan, combine the remaining 200g flour and 100g butter. Sauté over low heat, stirring constantly, until the flour turns slightly golden and releases a pleasant aroma (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat, add sugar and vanilla (optional), mix well. Let it cool.

    Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Take one portion of dough from the refrigerator, roll it out into a thin, rectangular sheet. Spread half of the filling evenly over it. Carefully roll it up into a log. Repeat with the second portion of dough. Cut each log into 2-3 cm thick pieces.

    Arrange the kada pieces on the prepared baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush it over the kada. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

    Once removed from the oven, let the kada cool slightly before serving.
