Instructions

5 steps
  1. 1

Wash the apples thoroughly, peel them, remove the core, and cut them into medium-sized pieces or rings. Place them in a large pot.

    15 min

  2. 2

Sprinkle sugar over the chopped apples, add water, and mix well. Let it sit for 2-3 hours to allow the apples to release their juice.

  3. 3

Place the pot over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. After 10-15 minutes of boiling, remove from heat and let it cool (about 4-6 hours or overnight).

    15 min

  4. 4

Place the cooled jam back on the heat. Once it boils, reduce the heat and simmer on low until the apples become translucent and the syrup thickens. Towards the end of cooking, you can add lemon juice to enhance the brightness and flavor of the jam.

    60 min

  5. 5

Pour the hot, finished jam into sterile jars and seal tightly with lids. Store in a cool, dark place.
