Boiled Corn on the Cob

This is the simplest and most delicious Georgian summer dish, made from fresh, sweet corn. Its natural sweetness and juicy texture make it an ideal breakfast or light snack. Boiled corn is best served hot, seasoned with a little salt.

    Remove the husks and silk from the corn cobs. Ensure they are completely clean.

    Bring water to a boil in a large pot. The water should be sufficient to fully submerge the corn.

    Carefully place the cleaned corn cobs into the boiling water. Do not add salt at this stage, as it can toughen the corn.

    Boil the corn for 15-20 minutes, or until the kernels are tender and bright yellow. Younger corn may require less time.

    Remove the corn from the water and drain. Season with salt, if desired, and serve hot.
