    Wash the kidney beans thoroughly and cover with cold water. Let it soak overnight.

    In the morning, drain the water, add fresh water, bay leaf, and finely chopped chili pepper. Simmer over low heat until the beans are tender (about 1-1.5 hours).

    Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the finely chopped onion until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

    Add the tomato paste to the sautéed onions and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
