    Wash the beans and soak them in water for several hours or overnight.

    Boil the beans until tender.

    Pass the cooked beans through a meat grinder.

    Also pass the walnuts and garlic through a meat grinder.

    Sauté the finely chopped onion in oil until golden brown.

    Add spices, salt, and sautéed onions to the combined mass. Mix well.

    Divide the walnut mixture into two parts. Mix one part with the bean mixture and set aside the other part for the satsivi sauce.
