Pelamushi

Pelamushi is a traditional Georgian dessert made from grape juice and corn flour. It is especially popular in the autumn, during the grape harvest season.

  • Grape juice1000 ml

    Dissolve the corn flour in a small amount of cold grape juice, stirring well to avoid lumps.

    Pour the remaining grape juice into a saucepan, add sugar (if using), and place over medium heat.

    When the juice boils, slowly add the corn flour and juice mixture, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.

    Cook over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring constantly, until it thickens and becomes smooth.

    Remove from heat and pour into molds or plates. Let it cool to room temperature and then refrigerate until firm.

    Before serving, sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
