Qada is a traditional Georgian pastry known for its flaky dough and sweet filling. This recipe is simple and allows you to prepare delicious Qada at home.

    In a bowl, combine softened butter and flour. Rub together with your hands until you get a crumbly mixture.

    Add sour cream, egg, salt and baking powder. Knead a soft and fluffy dough.

    Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    While the dough is chilling, prepare the filling: In a bowl, combine sugar, softened butter and flour. Rub together with your hands until smooth.

    Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius.

    Divide the chilled dough into two parts and roll out into thin sheets.

    Brush the rolled-out dough with egg white and sprinkle with the filling.

    Roll up the dough with the filling into a roll.

    Brush the roll with egg yolk and cut into desired shapes (e.g. diamonds).

    Place the Qada on a baking sheet and bake at 170 degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
